"Kelly, I’m sorry this situation was frustrating, especially while you were out of town and trying to resolve an issue with your rental car. I do want to provide some context, as being available to our customers when they need us is very important to me and my team.
Our office did close early Friday afternoon. Unfortunately, we also experienced an unexpected phone system outage Friday afternoon that continued into Monday morning. The inability to reach us Monday morning was due to that outage—not because our office was unavailable.
When you contacted us Monday morning, my team responded by text and provided the Claims contact information. While our office can assist customers with filing a new claim, once a claim has been established, rental authorization and coverage dates are handled directly by the Claims department and cannot be adjusted by our agency office.
I also personally returned your call and left a message, and I contacted claims on your behalf this afternoon to ensure the issue was resolved. I’m glad they were able to address the rental issue.
I understand that this experience was frustrating, and I certainly wish our phones had been working when you needed us. At the same time, I hope our history of being there to assist you over the years is also a reflection of the service my team works hard to provide. We value our customers and will always do what we can to help—even when the solution ultimately has to come from another department."
